Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Gaming Otaku collects when you use gamingotaku.com, how we use it and the choices you have. Gaming Otaku is run by GAMING OTAKU LLP in Singapore (“we”, “us”). We handle personal data in line with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

What we collect

  • When you order: your name, email, phone number, billing and delivery address, the items you buy and your order history.
  • When you create an account: your name, email and password (stored in encrypted form; we can’t see it).
  • When you pay: payments are handled by our payment provider, Airwallex. Your card details go straight to them. We never see or store your full card number. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details such as the payment method and the last four digits of a card.
  • When you contact us or send a sourcing request: your name, email, any Telegram or WhatsApp handle you give us, and what you write to us.
  • When you comment on a guide: your name, email, comment and IP address.
  • When you browse: technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, kept by our web host and security tools to keep the site safe and working.

How we use it

  • To process, ship and support your orders and pre-orders, including sending order and delivery updates.
  • To answer your messages and prepare sourcing quotes.
  • To manage your account, refunds and returns.
  • To prevent fraud, spam and misuse of the site.
  • To keep business records we are required to keep, for example for tax and accounting.
  • To send you news and offers, but only if you have agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the shop, and only what they need:

  • Airwallex to process payments.
  • Delivery and courier partners to deliver your order (your name, address and phone number).
  • Our web host and email providers, which store the website and send emails.
  • Spam and security services (such as Akismet for comments) to filter spam and attacks.
  • Overseas sellers and forwarders for sourcing orders, where needed to buy and ship your item.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it.

Some of these providers may store or process data outside Singapore. When that happens, we take steps to make sure your data is protected to a standard comparable to the PDPA.

Cookies

We use cookies that the shop needs to work: to remember your cart, keep you signed in and protect forms from spam. We don’t currently use advertising or tracking cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy first.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Order and payment records are kept for at least five years to meet Singapore tax and accounting rules. Messages and sourcing requests are deleted when they are no longer needed.

How we protect it

The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), access to customer data is limited to the people who run the shop, and we keep our software up to date. If a data breach happens that is likely to harm you, we will notify you and the Personal Data Protection Commission as the PDPA requires.

Your choices and rights

  • Access and correction: ask us what personal data we hold about you, how it has been used, or ask us to correct it.
  • Withdraw consent: tell us to stop using your data for a purpose, for example marketing. If you withdraw consent for something we need to fulfil an order, we may not be able to complete it.
  • Delete your account: ask us to close your account. We will keep only the records the law requires.

Email us to make a request. We will reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first.
