Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy: Release Date and What’s New

Original illustration with the text Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Edition, Dandori Academy and the 12 November 2026 launch date

Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy launches on Thursday 12 November 2026, according to Nintendo’s Singapore news page. It is an enhanced version of the 2023 Pikmin 4 with voice commands for Oatchi, sharper visuals and a new challenge mode called Dandori Academy. Here is what Nintendo has confirmed so far, and what it has not.

Release date in Singapore

Nintendo Singapore announced the game on 15 September 2026 with one clear line: it “launches 12 November”. On 29 October 2026 Nintendo’s Singapore news feed also noted that the game’s page is now open.

It shares its launch day with Metaphor: ReFantazio and SONIC PICO PARK on Nintendo’s November list, so 12 November is a busy day for Switch 2 owners.

What is new in the Switch 2 Edition

Voice commands for Oatchi

Oatchi, the space pup who helps you carry Pikmin and sniff out treasure, now responds to your voice. Nintendo says you can “direct your pup companion Oatchi with voice commands using the system’s built-in microphone and give him some well-earned praise”. That uses the microphone built into Nintendo Switch 2, so no extra accessory is mentioned.

A more detailed tiny world

Nintendo UK describes the update as letting you “explore an even more detailed tiny world”. Nintendo has not published resolution or frame rate figures on the pages we checked, so we won’t guess at them.

Dandori Academy

Dandori is the Pikmin word for planning your moves well: sending the right Pikmin to the right job in the right order. Dandori Academy turns that into a set of exams. According to Nintendo Singapore, the mode includes:

  • Stages where you collect treasure as quickly as possible
  • Exams every Friday, Saturday and Sunday
  • Online leaderboards
  • Medals to earn
  • Three difficulty levels
  • 72 stages in total, released over time

Online leaderboards need a Nintendo Switch Online membership and a Nintendo Account, and Nintendo notes they are “not available in all countries”. Check the game’s page on Nintendo’s Singapore site before launch if leaderboards matter to you.

If you already own Pikmin 4

Trade press such as VGC reported that the game comes out both physically and digitally, and that owners of the original Switch game will be able to buy an upgrade. Nintendo’s Singapore news post does not spell out the upgrade details, so treat that as reported rather than confirmed for Singapore until the official page says so.

Is it worth a look?

If you have never played Pikmin, this is the version Nintendo is now pointing new players to, with the full Pikmin 4 adventure plus the new mode. If you finished Pikmin 4 on Switch, Dandori Academy is the main reason to return, especially as stages keep arriving over time.

We will update this post if Nintendo shares more about upgrades or the Dandori Academy stage schedule.
