The MTG Star Trek release date is Friday 13 November 2026, with prerelease events running from 6 to 12 November and MTG Arena getting the set on 10 November. Stores can start their prereleases from 12pm local time on Friday 6 November. Below we cover the key dates, what a prerelease involves, how to find one in Singapore, what is in the set and which products Wizards of the Coast says may arrive late in Asia-Pacific.
MTG Star Trek release date and key dates
Wizards of the Coast lists these dates in its Collecting Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek article, and the WPN dates and details page for stores matches the prerelease and release dates.
| What | Date (2026) |
|---|---|
| Prerelease events | Fri 6 Nov to Thu 12 Nov |
| MTG Arena release | Tue 10 Nov |
| Global tabletop release | Fri 13 Nov |
| Full card image gallery | Mon 30 Nov |
These are global dates. Wizards does not give a Singapore time for the MTG Arena release, so we won’t guess one. The one time Wizards does give is for prereleases: its WPN prerelease page says events “can be scheduled starting at 12 p.m. local time on Friday, November 6, and throughout the week until November 12.” In Singapore, that means the earliest start is 12pm on Friday 6 November.
What is a Magic Star Trek prerelease?
A prerelease is the first chance to play with a new set before its full release. Wizards’ prerelease page describes them as events “held at local game stores ahead of a Magic set’s full release”.
The format is Sealed. According to Wizards’ Star Trek Prerelease Guide, each player receives a Prerelease Pack with:
- 6 Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek Play Boosters
- 1 traditional foil promo card
- 1 deck box
- 1 spindown die
You open the pack and build a 40-card deck from what you opened plus any number of basic lands. The guide is clear about the mood: “Prerelease events are all about casual, friendly play.”
A few practical points from Wizards’ prerelease page:
- You don’t need your own cards. Everything you need is in the Prerelease Pack or provided by the store.
- Basic lands are supplied by the store, though you can bring your own.
- Plan for a long session. Wizards says most prereleases run “anywhere from four to five hours”, including deck building and breaks between rounds.
Each store sets its own dates, times and format details within that 6 to 12 November window, so check with the store before you go.
How to find an MTG Star Trek prerelease in Singapore
Use the Official Wizards Store & Event Locator. It is Wizards’ own search for Magic events and stores, so it is the most reliable place to see which stores near you have listed a Star Trek prerelease.
Search for Singapore, look for Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek prerelease listings in the 6 to 12 November window, then confirm the start time, format and registration details directly with the store.
What’s in Magic: The Gathering Star Trek
Wizards calls it a 2026 Universes Beyond set built around 60 years of Star Trek, and says “Nearly every incarnation of Star Trek, from The Original Series to the latest voyages into space, is here.” The main set code is TRK, and Wizards says it is legal in all formats. The Commander cards use TRC, and the Stardates cards use SDS.
From the collecting article, the Booster Fun highlights are:
- Signed headliner cards: each one was physically signed by a Star Trek actor and randomly inserted into a Collector Booster. They are always in English, whatever the booster’s language.
- LCARS shock lands: all 10 shock lands appear in a frame based on the Enterprise’s on-board computer.
- Stardates cards: borderless reprints of well-known Magic cards with Star Trek artwork.
- Klingon script cards: versions of the Klingon frame cards printed in the Klingon language, found only in Collector Boosters.
There are four Commander decks: Federation Fleet, Landing Party, Klingon Fury and We Are the Borg. If you are not sure how Play Boosters, Collector Boosters and Commander decks differ, our guide to Magic product types explains each one.
For context, the set before this was Reality Fracture, which Wizards says released worldwide on 2 October 2026.
Are any Star Trek products delayed?
Yes, in some regions. Wizards posted a product delays notice on 16 October 2026 and updated it on 30 October 2026. The key line: “Play Boosters and Prerelease Packs are on track for availability during Prerelease and release events.”
For Asia-Pacific, Wizards lists Collector Boosters, Omega Collector Boosters, Bundles, Beam Me Up Bundles and Draft Night as delayed, and says they “may arrive after the tabletop release date.” Wizards does not list individual countries under each region, and it calls the delays “fluid”, advising players to check with their local game store or retailer.
Separately, Wizards cancelled the Star Trek Beginner Box in all regions on 21 September 2026, and said no other Star Trek products were affected by that decision.
